About Gemstone
A school built around one promise: no child left behind.
From our first cohort to today, Gemstone Academy has stayed rooted in Makeni, Lusaka — and in the belief that every student deserves to be truly known.
Our Story
Rooted in Makeni, built for the future.
Founded in 2018 in Makeni, Lusaka, Gemstone Academy was born from a single guiding vision: to establish an educational institution where academic excellence is paired with individual character development, ensuring no child is left behind. Under the guidance of our director Mrs. Grace Banda, we set out to build a close-knit learning community that champions both academic foundations and creative expression.
What started as a small primary school cohort has grown into a premier Nursery to Secondary academy. We hold ourselves to elite academic standards while keeping our community genuinely inclusive, providing students with the confidence and voice to make a difference.

Mission & Values
What we hold ourselves to.
Gemstone Academy inspires bright, motivated young people to be the best, and equips them with the skills and experience needed to become valued, dynamic, confident, and powerful members of any community.
Confidence
We build ability first, so confidence is earned rather than assumed.
Community
Every student, parent, and teacher belongs to one accountable family.
Character
Skills matter, but who a student becomes matters just as much.
Curiosity
Spaces like the Debate Club exist so students learn to ask, not just answer.
